Women's Golf highly successful during second round of NACC Championship

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. – It didn't take long for members of Concordia Wisconsin's Women's Golf team to notice success on Saturday when looking at the leaderboard through the second round of the NACC Championship. Maddy Zastrow and Leah Wilde are first and second as individuals, and the Falcons find themselves in second place as a team at Meadowbrook Golf Course.

THE BASICS
Course: Meadowbrook Golf Course (par 71, 5,829 yards)
Team Leaderboard: 2nd of 7 (368-358 – 726)
Falcon Individuals: Maddy Zastrow (85-85 – 170), Leah Wilde (86-85 – 171), Molly Mundinger (97-99 – 196), Kayla Haen (108-89 – 197), Amy Carpenter (100-105)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Maddy Zastrow (Greendale, Wis.) stayed atop the NACC Championship leaderboard with another round of 85, which included seven pars, while sophomore Leah Wilde (Kewaskum, Wis.) also fired an 85 to put herself a shot behind her teammate with 18 holes to play. Wilde had a birdie and six pars during the second round.
- Concordia Wisconsin couldn't gain any ground of tournament leader Aurora, but was 10 strokes better with a 358 score after shooting a 368 during the first 18 holes of competition.
- Freshman Molly Mundinger (West Bend, Wis.) shot a 99 and finds herself in a tie for 16th position. The top 10 players receive All-NACC recognition after the 54-hole three-day event.
- Junior Kayla Haen (Appleton, Wis.) made huge strides of improvement and moved up the leaderboard four positions after improving 18 strokes. She had a 108 during the opening round and posted an 89 on day two, which included a birdie and seven pars.
- Freshman Amy Carpenter (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) is in 21st overall after shooting a 105 for a 36-hole total of 205. She has three pars thus far in the tournament.

BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The top four players on the individual leaderboard have each shot rounds in the 80s.
- Wilde leads all players in par 3 scoring average (3.60) and par 5 scoring average (5.13). She also leads the tournament with 14 pars.
- Zastrow is second in par 4 scoring average (4.94) and second in par 5 scoring average (5.38).

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin completes the NACC Championship on Sunday at Meadowbrook Golf Course.
