NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Triathlon Team competed in a very difficult Central Regional Qualifier on Monday. The meet featured some of the top teams nationally, including Division I Arizona State, who had the top seven finishers.
THE BASICS
- Falcons Finishers: Samantha Hoyt (1:18.05.8); Meghan Klement (1:22.46.2)
- Location: Naperville, Illinois
RESULTS
- Hoyt (Sheboygan, Wis.) finished 31st with a time of 1:18.05.8. She completed her swim in a time of 11:47, the bike portion in 38:04, and the run in 27:15.8.
- Klement (Muskego, Wis.) finished the race in a time of 1:22.46.2. She completed the swim in 10:41.2, followed by a 40:04.7 bike portion and a 30:19.8 run.
- All the other Falcons who competed on Monday finished the swim portion of the race. Since the contest was a draft legal race if the leaders are lapping the competition at any point, those being lapped are not allowed to finish the race and go down as a DNF (Did Not Finish).
- All four other Falcons – Mary Karsten, Danielle Morgan, Alicia Hook, and Anne Karsten – finished the swim portion under 14 minutes.
COMPETITION
- Arizona State had the top seven finishers, led by Hannah Henry (1:00.06.4). Hannah Blystone of Trine University was the top Division III finisher, placing eighth overall (1:06.27.2).
UP NEXT
- The Falcons will have a few weeks off from competition. CUW is next scheduled to compete on Saturday, September 23 in either a dual race or at the Lake Geneva Triathlon.
