Schlosser ties for 1st, Men's Golf takes 4th at WLC Spring Invitational

HARTFORD, Wis. – Sam Schlosser fired a career-tying-low round of 71 to tie for first place at the Wisconsin Lutheran Spring Invitational, while Concordia Wisconsin took fourth place as a team at Washington County Golf Course on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Sam Schlosser (West Bend, Wis.) continued his hot streak as of late, recording another first place finish after shooting a career-tying-low round of 1-under par 71. He was tied with Reid Anderson (Carthage) and medalist honors were decided by a back nine scorecard tiebreaker.
- Schlosser shot a 35 compared to Anderson's 34. Despite the decision, the righty sank four birdies and 12 pars during his notable round, and he didn't make a bogey on the inward nine.
- Concordia Wisconsin shot a season-low 302 to finish in fourth place. It was the fifth time this season the Falcons finish in fifth place or better.
- Senior Nathan Hasenstein (Sheboygan, Wis.) carded a career-low 3-over par round of 75 to tie for eighth place after making four birdies and nine pars. He ended his round with back-to-back birdies.
- Sophomore Andrew Otto (Kewaskum, Wis.) also tied for eighth on the leaderboard with a 3-over par 75 and had four birdies in the first five holes on the back nine. He also made eight par putts.
- Senior Nick Szopinski (Beaver Dam, Wis.) competed as an individual and shot a 77. He had two birdies and nine pars during his season-low round.
- Freshman Dylan Karvala (New Berlin, Wis.) had an 81, while included a birdie to conclude his round and nine par putts. He made six pars through the first seven holes to begin his round.
- Sophomore Bailey VanHandel (Kaukauna, Wis.) ended with an 82 after making four birdies and four par putts.

BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Falcons round of 302 is tied for the third lowest in program history, while Schlosser's 71 is also tied for the third lowest.
- Carthage won the tournament trophy with a 295 total score.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin will conclude its three-day run of tournaments on Sunday at the Lake Forest Spring Invitational to conclude its season.
