Jordan Carlton breaks Men's Golf record at WLC Invitational

HARTFORD, Wis. – The CUW men's golf team wrapped up play on day one of the WLC Fall Invitational on Saturday. The Falcons posted a combined round of 379 strokes, three strokes behind the host Warriors. In third place is Bryant & Stratton at 398 strokes and Judson at 404 strokes.

Junior Jordan Carlton (Kewaskum, Wis.) leads the field at 67 strokes after landing seven birdies on the afternoon, including five on the back nine. The round of 67 is his lowest 18-hole round in program history. Breaking the previous record of 69 strokes set by Sam Schlosser in 2019 and Andrew Otto in 2017.

Tied for fifth place is senior Wyatt Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) at 74 strokes. Wilderman finished the round with four birdies, including one on the par-four 18th hole to close the round.

Senior Nate Benjamin (Tucson, Ariz.) shot a round of 76 on Saturday to stand in eighth place.

Entering the clubhouse at 79 strokes was senior Dylan Karvala (New Berlin, Wis.) in a tie for 13th place. Karvala sank a birdie on the par-four 12th hole.

Freshman Nick Klemm (Sussex, Wis.) clocked in at 83 strokes and currently sits in a tie for 20th place. The CUW freshman was able to earn a birdie on hole 15 to bolster a strong finish to the day.

Sophomore Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) stands tied for 26th place at 88 strokes. Sherman secured a birdie on hole 17 to close the day.

Playing individually for CUW was sophomore Carsten Zange (Robins, Iowa) at 84 strokes, freshman Casey Mindt (Beaver Dam, Wis.) at 92 strokes and sophomore Tyberius Neideffer (Racine, Wis.) at 116 strokes.

The Falcons look to soar higher on Sunday as they close out the WLC Fall Invitational on Sunday morning.
