WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The CUW men's track & field team added hardware to the trophy case in the outdoor season opener with a first-place finish at the Wisconsin Lutheran Meet for Milwaukee race. The Falcons won with 164 points.
Junior Gideon Cain continued to be the standard-bearer in the shot put with a winning mark of 14.77 meters for the school record. He also placed second in the discus throw at 43.79 meters and fourth in the hammer throw at 37.31 meters.
Senior Samual Spranger was the champion in the 400-meter dash with a winning time of 51.80. He also finished the 200-meter dash in sixth place at 24.23.
Freshman Seth Day dominated the javelin competition with a first-place mark of 42.99 meters.
The 400-meter hurdles title went to freshman Jacob Klem on Friday at 59.20.
Freshman Jack Ramstack took the crown in the 800-meter run at 2:16.17.
Freshman Tim Brey took the silver medal in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:16.49.
The pole vault saw freshman Keegan Palm place second at 3.15 meters.
Junior Paul Leahy also finished second in the long jump at 6.33 meters.
Freshman Isaac Zahrt finished the 100-meter dash in fourth place at 12.42.
The Falcons return to competition on March 27 at Carroll.
