MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team was firing on all cylinders in the season opener on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons opened the year with a 6-0 victory over Marian.

Sophomore Selena Esten scored less than two minutes into the game with a shot to the left of the Marian goalie. Sophomore Karoline Haugland had the assist.

Haugland scored two minutes later off a pass from sophomore Ashley Swihart.

Sage McDaniel stole the ball from the Sabres and tossed it to Selena Esten who put the ball away in the 16^th minute.

Selena Esten started the second half scoring with a steal and a score in the 47^th minute.

Senior Allison McElwee joining the scoring party in the 55^th minute off a pass from Karoline Haugland.

Selena Esten tied her career-high with her fourth goal of the day in the 72^nd minute.

Senior Kaeley Sterkel had three saves in the victory. Sophomore Naomi Gruben played seven minutes in relief.

CUW held a commanding 26-3 shooting advantage on Sunday. Selena Esten led the flock with six shots.

The Falcons travel to MSOE on Wednesday night.
