FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team secured a spot in the NACC Tournament with a 5-2 victory at Marian. The victory keeps the Falcons unbeaten in the NACC North Division at 5-0-0 and with 15 points.
Sophomore Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) found the back of the net in the 15th minute with a shot to the near post off a pass from sophomore Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway).
Junior Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) chipped in a rebound in the 35th minute.
The Sabres found their way onto the scoreboard before halftime.
Karoline Haugland blasted a goal from outside of the box in the 47th minute.
Senior Allison McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.) kept the goals pouring in the net as the rain fell on Friday.
The Black and Blue scored again on a penalty kick.
Sophomore Natalie Esparza (Milwaukee, Wis.) deflected in the final goal off a pass from Isabel Downs.
Senior Kaeley Sterkel (Dan Point, Wis.) had one save in the victory.
Karoline Haugland finished with 10 shots in the victory over Marian.
The Blue and White have won the last eight meetings in the series, the longest in program history.
The Falcons compete again on Saturday at Alverno.
