NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The 2021 track & field season came to an end for Gideon Cain at the North Central Gregory Invitational on Wednesday afternoon.
A junior from Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Gideon Cain finished in fifth place in the shot put at 15.48 meters.
His bid to advance to the NCAA Division III Championships falls short. Cain entered the day with the 21st-best mark of the year at 15.75 meters, outside of the top-17 in the nation that qualify.
Cain shattered the school record that stood since 1996 and was the NACC champion in the shot put and discus. He also was named the NACC Student-Athlete of the Week on five different occasions on the season.
