WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The CUW men's track and field team stands in third place after the first day of the NACC Championships with 25 points. CUW finished the day with three medals and one champion.
Sophomore Seth Day (Sunset Hills, Mo.) claimed the NACC javelin crown at 49.69 meters.
Junior Gideon Cain (Cedarburg, Wis.) was the silver medalist in the hammer throw at 42.01 meters.
Sophomore Konnor Kingsmore (Colorado Springs, Colo.) claimed the bronze medal in the triple jump at 13.37 meters. Freshman Austin Thur (Bloomer, WIs.) scored the Falcons a point in eighth place at 12.48 meters.
In the decathlon, sophomore Michael Brookshire (Valley Springs, Calif.) finished third in the shot put at 10.16 meters fifth in the 100-meter dash at 12.40 and in the 400-meter dash at 59.78. He was also sixth in the high jump at 1.25 meters and in the long jump at 4.39 meters. He is currently in fifth place with 1979 points.
Junior Christian Prohl (Downers Grove, Ill.) qualified for the 400-meter dash finals with a seventh-place finish at 52.98.
Junior William Ebel (Macomb, Mich.) earned a spot in the 800-meter finals on Saturday with an eighth-place time of 2:03.72.
Freshman Ryley McCreary (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) finished in 19th place in the 100-meter dash preliminaries at 12.40 he was also 28th in the 200-meter dash at 25.28.
CUW looks to compete for the NACC title on Saturday.
