WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Senior Gideon Cain represented Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The senior from Cedarburg, Wisconsin, competed in the shot put and in heat two of the competition.
Cain opened the competition with a mark of 15.40 meters and then followed that up with a mark of 15.44 meters in round two.
After rounds of 14.97 and 15.02, he posted his best round of 15.48 meters to earn an eighth-place finish.
He is the first indoor NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field All-American since Brock Solveson in 2010.
Kevin Ruechel won the competition at 17.78 meters.
The Falcons finished in 59th place with one point.
Washington University in St. Louis and Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the championships with 35 points.
