MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW esports team heads into the final stretch of competition in the next few weeks with some big matchups coming this week.
Kicking off the week is College Halo week seven with a battle against Miami of Ohio. The first Halo Infinite season in CUW esports history has flown by. After a slow start to the season, the Falcons won enough games to put themselves within striking distance of playoffs in their season finale. Even more than a trip to the playoffs is on the line. The new squad wants to keep their momentum going and end the season on a strong note with eyes on the Fall.
After winning 4 of their last 5 games, the Valorant team is coming in hot to their last game of the regular season. Holy Cross may be above the Falcons in the standings but, with their new lineup, the Blue and White have never looked better. Although both teams already clinched playoffs, there are some major seeding implications on the line, so both teams see this as a must-win.
The first-ever Rainbow 6 State Championship is on the line this weekend. After a grueling season, the Falcons are going into the playoffs as the second seed in the state with only four teams remaining. CUW will have to battle UW-Platteville in the semifinals, with the winner clinching a spot in the State Finals. Not only is this the first State Championship, but the matchup will also be played face to face with both teams battling side by side at Carthage.
