MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW esports team started the week hot with a trio of victories to kick off the week.
The Call of Duty (CoD) team took on Clarke in week eight in their College CoD League. The Falcons lost game one of a best-of-five matchup with a Hardpoint score of 233-250 but came back with three-straight wins with game scores of 6-2, 3-1, and 250-116. Junior Cade Jahns (Ripon, Wis.) led the Falcons with 127 eliminations with senior Nathan Bauknecht (Crandon, Wis.) leading with 4:33 hill time.
Bauknecht had this to say after the matchup, "That team was good, but we played our roles well, and honestly, this was our best series of the split. Communication and teamwork were ELITE today!"
In a 2-1 victory, the Falcon Valorant team took down Holy Cross with game scores of 5-13, 13-10, and 13-7. "WHAT A WIN! We are finally clicking and playing up to our potential," Said coach Jack Slater after the Falcons dropped a total of 218 eliminations in the matchup with only 203 deaths which gave them a ratio of 1.08:1. Freshman Danny Haarman (Wauwatosa, Wis.) led the Falcons with 57 total eliminations and 25 of those in game two.
The League of Legends team competed in game seven of their NECC league Spring season in a matchup with the Redbirds. The Falcons snagged the 2-1 victory with bookend wins in games one and three. The Falcons won with scores of 38-29 and 34-24.
The Falcons look to continue this streak throughout the rest of the week.
