CHICAGO – Despite scoring early, the Falcons drew even at Illinois Tech on Saturday night with a 2-2 tie. The Falcons earned a point in the tight Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) standings with the result and move to 6-1-2 on the year and 3-0-1 with 10 points in the NACC.
Sophomore Sheridan Dorge (Winnipeg, Man.) started the scoring in the second minute when she threw a rebound off a saved shot from senior Isabel Downs.
In the 18th minute, the Falcons scored off a free kick from sophomore Carmen Rowe (Copley, Ohio), when a deflection from senior Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) found junior Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) and Moore threw the ball in the back of the net.
The Scarlet Hawks scored right before halftime to make it a 2-1 game and found the equalizer in the 55th minute.
Illinois Tech had a 25-6 advantage in shots on Saturday night.
Sophomore Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) kept the Falcons in the match with 11 saves.
Isabel Downs led Concordia with two shots.
The Falcons look to get back in the win column on Wednesday afternoon against St. Norbert.
