MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer team improved to 2-0 on the young season with a decisive victory over the Lake Forest Foresters.

The Falcons broke the tie early with a goal in the ninth minute off the foot of senior Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.). Downs was assisted by senior Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.).  

The teams were forced to take a long injury break after the first goal, but the Blue and White came back hot when the whistle blew with another goal in the 14th minute. 

Senior Karoline Haugland (Bergen, Norway) scored off of an assist from Jordan Lafferty (Surprise, Ariz.).

Downs and Lafferty connected later in the first half to give the Falcons a three-goal advantage going into halftime as well as giving Downs her second goal.

Haugland got the second half started in the 69th minute when she scored off of a give-and-go opportunity with Isabel Downs and shoved one right past the Forester keeper.

The Blue and White finished with eight total shots and sophomore Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) walked away with her second shutout of the season.

The Falcons look to continue their hot streak on Wednesday as they travel to Iowa for a matchup with Loras.
