LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's soccer team closed the non-conference portion of the 2024 regular season at Wisconsin-La Crosse. The Eagles picked up a 6-2 victory to improve to 13-3-2.

The Eagles entered the day ranked third in the United Soccer Coaches and fourth in the NCAA regional rankings.

Wisconsin-La Crosse scored the first six goals of the match in the first 22 minutes of the match

CUW had its first shot of the match in the 11th minute when senior Maya Bell (West Bend Wis.) sent the ball wide.

In the 36th minute, the Falcons soared down the field quickly in transition and senior Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) blasted a shot at the goalkeeper.

Moore sparked another Concordia attack in the 43rd minute when she snuck past three La Crosse defenders and forced the goalie to come out and save the ball. Junior Shay Lange (Racine, Wis.) found the back of the net from around 25 yards to sneak the ball under the crossbar off a pass from junior Sara Gille (Stoughton, Wis.).

The Falcons wasted no time starting the attack in the second half and after the ball pinballed off some UWL defenders, junior Brei Rozmiarek had a shot saved 72 seconds into the half.

Another opportunity presented itself in the 53rd minute when Brei Rozmiarek intercepted the ball from the keeper and forced the keeper to leap for the ball. Senior Sheridan Dorge (Winnipeg, Manitoba) then had a shot blocked from 20 yards.

Senior Anna Gong (Phoenix, Ariz.) joined in on the attack in the 64th minute with a shot from distance.

Senior Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) posted four saves in the start. Sophomore Kara Claussner (St. Charles, Ill.) collected seven saves in relief.

In the 69th minute, freshman Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.) snuck past a pair of defenders with her breakaway speed and smashed the ball towards the net.

Freshman Hailey Whittow (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) had a look in the 81st minute that went wide. Whittow struck three minutes later off a corner with freshman Ava Fox (Juneau, Wis.) adding the assist.

Sheridan Dorge ended with a shot that was saved as the match expired.
