Falcons Defend Their D3 Title at St. Norbert

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's cross country team was honored as the NCAA Division III champions at the St. Norbert Tom Berry Invite on Saturday. This is the second year that they have claimed the crown. The Falcons finished with 79 points in the five-kilometer race, leading the NCAA Division III schools, the only team with a lower score was Wisconsin-Milwaukee at 36 points.

Junior Ainara Sainz De Rozas (Madrid, Spain) was the fastest NCAA Division III runner in second place at 19:22.59.

Junior Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) finished in fifth place at 19:32.05.

The third Falcon in the top 10 was senior Alicia Kawa (Medford, Wis.) in sixth place at 19:35.93.

In 31st place was sophomore Mikayla Becker (Plantation, Fla.) at 21:12.61.

Sophomore Abigail Lange (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) recorded a time of 21:39.14 in 41st place.

Sophomore Kylee Camble (Cudahy, Wis.) collected a time of 22:18.79 in 56th place.

Freshman Megan Kowalski (Brighton, Wis.) crossed the finish line at 22:22.24 in 58th place.

Freshman Annabelle Gonnering (West Bend, Wis.) recorded a time of 22:35.29 in 62nd place.

In 66th place was sophomore Bailee Schlender (Brillion, Wis.) with a time of 22:46.92.

Senior Ella Brill (Oostburg, Wis.) brought in a time of 22:50.10 in 69th place.

Junior Elizabeth Van Rixel (Athens, Wis.) ran a time of 23:25.66 in 79th place.

Sophomore Faith Konzak (Cedar Grove, Wis.) finished at 23:50.37 in 91st place.

Sophomore Sydney Leschisin (Turtle Lake, Wis.) rounded out the flock in 101st place at 24:56.32.

The Falcons look to continue their winning ways on Sept. 14 on the shores of Lake Michigan at the Ken Weidt Classic at Concordia Wisconsin.
