SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team had all four doubles teams survive and play on Saturday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships and at the Midwest Open
At the ITA Midwest Regional Doubles Championships, senior Landon Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and senior Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) battled against Taona Mhwandagara and Dominik Knutson of Gustavus Adolphus. The Golden Gusties advanced with an 8-6 victory.
Concordia also fielded three teams that battled at the Midwest Open "B" Doubles Championships on Saturday.
Freshman Ryan Bilan (Greendale, Wis.) and freshman James Murphy (Crawfordsville, Ind.) were victorious over Keegan McLaughlin and Kaan MacDonald of Grinnell, 8-7. In the third round, the duo faced Cade Davis and Robert Matera of Wartburg. The Knights advanced to the quarterfinals with an 8-4 victory.
Freshman Hayden Latus (Waukesha, Wis.) and sophomore Renan Revite (São Bernardo do campo, Brazil) started the day with an 8-5 victory over Wartburg's Eli Swanstrom and Joseph Haag. In the third round, the Falcons fell to Aman Kotari and Alex Doane of Grinnell, 8-5.
Junior Dylan Nadolski (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and senior Benjamin Vorpahl (Sheboygan, Wis.) fell short against Jake Lucas and Marty Anderson, 8-2.
The Falcons return to action in February at Wisconsin-La Crosse.
