WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's golf team had a sensational Sunday at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Golf Championships. The Falcons jumped Benedictine on Sunday to move into sixth place at 723 strokes, just three off Edgewood in fifth place. The Birds shredded 19 strokes off from Saturday with a round of 352 strokes. Aurora maintains its lead at 629 strokes.
Heading into the final round, Emma Laundrie of St. Norbert and Yinan Lu of Marian lead the field at 151 strokes.
Freshman Alexa Cour (Rome, Wis.) leaped into 17th place after a round of 82 strokes on Sunday. She dropped six strokes from Saturday and is at 170 strokes after two days. Cour collected back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15 on Sunday.
Senior Shauna Grahn (New Berlin, Wis.) had a seven-stroke improvement on Sunday and is in 25th place at 177 strokes after posting an 85 on Sunday. Grahn grabbed a birdie on hole five.
Senior Paige Zirbel (De Pere, Wis.) smacked three strokes off the scorecard from Saturday with a round of 92 strokes on Sunday and is in 34th place at 187 strokes.
Junior Ava Stortz (Slinger, Wis.) also subtracted three strokes on Sunday at 93 strokes on the day and sits in 35th place at 189 strokes. Stortz ended the day on a high note with a birdie on hole No. 18.
Freshman Elizabeth Albers (Green Bay, Wis.) is in a tie for 40th place at 200 strokes with a round of 101 on Sunday.
Sophomore Kierra Hahn (Muscatine, Iowa) had a huge improvement on Sunday and had a 16-stroke difference at 93 strokes and sits in 43rd place at 202 strokes.
The Falcons tee off on the final round at 9:15 on Monday morning.
