RIPON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's track and field team opened the 2025-26 indoor season on Saturday at the Ripon Winter Open. The Falcons placed fourth out of seven teams with 71 points. Viterbo won the meet with 139 points, followed by Carroll, Edgewood, Lawrence, Ripon, and St. Norbert.
Sophomore
Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.) led the way with a pair of event victories. She opened her day by qualifying third in the 60-meter dash preliminaries before winning the final in a personal-best time of 7.92 seconds. Read also claimed the high jump title after clearing 1.55 meters.
Senior
Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) added another win for the Falcons, dominating the 3,000 meters in 10:53.91, finishing more than two minutes ahead of the runner-up.
CUW placed two athletes in the 60-meter hurdles final, as junior
Emma Eilertson (Mukwonago, Wis.) and freshman
Sophia Wunderlich (Greenville, Wis.) advanced out of the prelims. Eilertson finished fourth in 9.88, while Wunderlich took sixth in 10.04. Eilertson also earned a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.50 meters, and Wunderlich added a third-place mark in the triple jump at 10.96 meters.
In the sprints, freshman
Adalin Nodolf (Ripon, Wis.) placed sixth in the 300 meters with a time of 45.74, and later ran a team-best 28.71 in the 200 meters to finish 10th.
Senior
Kate Kotula (Wyomissing, Pa.) led CUW in the pole vault, taking fifth after clearing 3.05 meters. Sophomore
Amiyah Jackson (Beaver Damn, Wis.) recorded a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 4.94 meters.
The Falcons also posted strong results in the throws. In the weight throw,
Bryanna Mursch (Grafton, Wis./12.65m) and sophomore
Makenna Herbrand (Fond du Lac, Wis./12.47m) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Junior
Paige Schreiber (Dousman, Wis.) added an eighth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 10.36 meters.
Concordia Wisconsin will return to action after the holiday break, opening 2026 at the Pat Heenan Invitational hosted by North Central at the Al B. Carius Track in Naperville, Ill.
