Falcons Finish Third at NACC Championships

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's track & field team wrapped up the two-day Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Track & Field Champions on Saturday. The Falcons finished in third place with 103.33 points and one first-place finish. St. Norbert won the title with 249.83 points.

Senior Maya Hielscher (Macomb, Mich.) earned the silver medal in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.26 and sophomore Emma Eilertson (Mukwonago, Wis.) finished in seventh place at 101.10.

CUW had three in the finals in the 60-meter dash freshman Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.) claimed the bronze medal at 7.94. With senior Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) in seventh place at 8.24 and Maya Hielscher in eighth at 8.28.

In the 3000-meter run, junior Ainara Sainz de Rozas (Madrid, Spain) claimed the silver medal at 9:55.08 and sophomore Emma Aherns (Stephens City, Va.) was the bronze medalist at 10:13.61 and sophomore Sydney Leschisin (Turtle Lake, Wis.) finished in 13th place at 12:11.50.

Junior Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) was the bronze medalist in the 800-meter run at 2:23.63, with sophomore Olivia Ebel (Mount Clemens, Mich.) in fifth place at 2:29.17 and sophomore Kylee Camble (Cudahy, Wis.) in 12th place at 2:33.25.

The 200-meter dash saw Jacey Read finish in fourth place at 26.62, Sabrina Moore in 11th place at 28.11 and sophomore Ashley Burk in 19th place at 30.52.

Freshman Annabelle Gonnering (West Bend, Wis.) represented CUW in the 400-meter dash in 11th place at 1:05.56.

The team of Annabelle Gonnering, Elizabeth Backus, Danielle Van Grinsven and Olivia Ebel finished fourth in the 4x400-meter relay at 4:25.11.

Five Falcons competed in the high jump Emma Eilertson earned the silver medal at 1.59 meters, Maya Hielscher finished eighth at 1.44 meters, freshman Amiyah Jackson (Beaver Dam, Wis.) was 12th at 1.39 meters and Ashley Burk and sophomore Nina Alft (Kimberly, Wis.) were 15th at 1.34 meters.

The long jump pit saw Maya Hielscher in sixth place at 5.18 meters, Sabrina Moore in 13th place at 4.84 meters, Amiyah Jackson in 16th place at 4.76 meters and freshman Natiya Ballard (Stoughton, Wis.) in 17th place at 4.60 meters.

CUW had five compete in the shot put competition with sophomore Paige Schreiber (Dousman, Wis.) in ninth place at 10.08 meters, senior Jamie Maas (West Bend, Wis.) in 12th place at 9.97 meters, sophomore Morgan Feuker (Mount Pleasant, Wis.) 13th at 9.94, junior Kailey Ramaker (Cedarburg, Wis.) in 15th place at 9.78 meters and sophomore Bryanna Mursch (Grafton, Wis.) in 23rd place at 8.96 meters.

The Falcons will compete as a team against at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invotes on March 22.
