CHICAGO – In a late-night match that started way past 8:00 initial start time, the Falcons fought hard into the night at No. 2 Illinois Tech in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament Semifinals. The Scarlet Hawks survived with a 4-1 victory.
The Scarlet Hawks started the evening with a victory at No. 3 doubles.
The senior duo of Landan Sather (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and Joshua Klement (Muskego, Wis.) tied doubles play with a 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles.
The victory was the 12th of the season for the sensational senior duo.
The Scarlet Hawks secured the doubles point with a 7-4 tiebreaker on court two.
Illinois Tech added to the lead with a victory at No. 2 singles.
Landon Sather finished his storied career with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Pedro Caro Accino Roca at No. 1 singles.
The Scarlet Hawks advanced to the finals with victories on courts four and three.
Joshua Klement took the first set at No. 5 singles, 7-6.
Junior Dylan Nadolski (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) had a comeback rolling up 5-1 in the second set at No. 6 singles.
Illinois Tech will face MSOE on Saturday in the NACC Tournament Finals.
The Falcons finish the season with an 11-10 record.
