Softball Silences MSOE in NACC Tournament in a No-Hitter for Shellstrom

MONTGOMERY, Ill. – History was made in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Softball Tournament. Emma Shellstrom threw the third no-hitter in tournament history as the Concordia Wisconsin softball team advanced to the NACC Tournament Semifinals with a 7-0 victory over MSOE.

A sophomore from San Diego, California, Emma Shellstrom threw the first no-hitter in program history at the NACC Tournament.

The Falcons scored early on Friday afternoon with a sacrifice fly for junior Nora Statz (Helenville, Wis.) to left field in the second inning that enabled senior Jasmine Freeze (Bolingbrook, Ill.).

In the fourth inning, junior Rylie DuVal (Elgin, Ill.) doubled into the gap in left-center field to score Jasmine Freeze from second base.

The Birds doubled up the Raiders in the fifth inning.

Sophomore Jenna Lischka (Manitowoc, Wis.) started the inning with a double to left-center field.

Senior Jess Pozezinski (Lake Villa, Ill.) showed why she is the best bat in the NACC with a double into right-center field that plated Lischka.

Sophomore Jenna Shadoski (Janesville, Wis.) singled to center field to score Pozezinski.

The Falcons took advantage of a pair of errors in the sixth inning.

Senior Megan Bloyer had a blast to shortstop that was too hot to handle, and junior Taylor Jacobson (Kenosha, Wis.) scored.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Way (Blaine, Minn.) kept the inning rolling with a single up the middle that plated Jenna Shadoski.

Jasmine Freeze then singled to right field on a ball that dropped between defenders, and Megan Bloyer scored on the play.

The Falcons had three flyouts in the seventh inning to secure the shutout.

Emma Shellstrom joins Emily Mahoney of Dominican in 2013 and Anna Snyder of Aurora in 2008 as the only pitchers to throw a no-hitter in the NACC Tournament. Friday was the first no-hitter for Emma Shellstrom.

This is the second no-hitter of the year for CUW, with senior Adrianna Martinez doing so in five innings in March against Neumann.

CUW tied the program record with eight doubles in the victory. Tied the record at Marian on April 21, 2022.

Jasmine Freeze led the game with three hits, including three doubles, on Friday. Megan Bloyer finished with two doubles in
