Men’s Cross Country Opens Campaign at Tom Berry Classic

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's cross country team opened the 2026 campaign on Saturday morning at the St. Norbert College Tom Berry Invite. The Falcons finished in seventh place in the 12-team field with 178 points. Wisconsin-Green Bay of NCAA Division I took the team title with 31 points and four top-10 finishers.

Junior Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) cracked the top 10 in the loaded field in ninth place at 19:23.0.

Sophomore Jonah Slavik (Muskego, Wis.) snuck past the finish line at 19:53.0 in 23rd place.

In 53rd place was senior Preston Meier (Owatonna, Minn.) at 20:57.3.

Junior Mason Everts (Saukville, Wis.) ran a time of 21:04.7 on Saturday to finish in 57th place.

Freshman Carter Bonlender (Eldorado, Wis.) opened his Concordia career in 83rd place at 21:56.9.

Freshman Gabriel Baker (Stockton, Wis.) brought in a time of 23:07.3 in 104thplace.

The Falcons went back-to-back in 106th and 107th place with freshman Nathan Mendler (Nanuet, N.Y.) and freshman Jackson Huebner (Watertown, Wis.) at 23:09.5 and 23:10.8.

Freshman Liam Wielert (Corwn Point, Ind.) ran a time of 23:31.7 in 110th place.

Junior Riley Johnson (Cedar Lake, Ind.) recorded a time of 23:56.0 in 116th place.

Sophomore Eric Krause (Jackson, Wis.) rounded out the flock in 120th place at 24:25.9.

The Falcons will return to action at home on the shores of Lake Michigan for the Ken Weidt Classic on September 13.
