Falcons Take Fifth After Impressive Final Round

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's golf team jumped up to fifth to complete the 7th Annual Twin Ports Collegiate. Hosted by UW-Superior the tournament featured 13 team and was played at Nemadji Golf Club.
 
CUW jumped up three spots on day two after shooting +16 (304 strokes), ten strokes lower than the previous round.. The Falcons shot +42 (314-304) at the end of the tournament.
 
Dylan Smith led the way for the Falcons. Smith finished with a share third with a final score of +1. The sophomore completed the final round at an even 72, logging 16 pars, one bogey, and one birdie.
 
Freshman Jack MacGillis and sophomore Ray Baldus (Mayville, Wis.) both tied for 23rd at +12. MacGillis had a successful second round, he shot one over on the day. Rounding out the CUW lineup was freshman Grant Hamm and graduate student Tyler Yaun (Rockton, Ill.). Hamm finished +17 and placed T-40th, with Yaun placing T-70 with a final score of +28.
 
Sophomore Tyler Klett (Paw Paw, Mich.) and junior Reece Stoltenow (Bonduel, Wis.) competed as individuals at the tournament. Klett tied for 26th, shooting +17 after 26 holes. Stoltenow shot +22 and placed T-54th.
 
The Falcons compete in the Firebird Fall Classic next. Hosted by Carthage College, the Falcons will play Ives Grove Golf Club (Yorkville, Wis.) first on Monday, Sept. 8 and will play Strawberry Creek Golf Club (Kenosha, Wis.)  the following day.
