WINONA, Minn. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team opened the spring season with a convincing victory on Friday night. The Falcons improved to 2-1 with a 7-0 victory at Saint Mary's.
Sophomore Hayden Latus (Waukesha, Wis.) and freshman Murilo Zeni (Curitiba, Brazil) picked up a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.
At No. 2 doubles, junior Renan Revite (São Bernardo do campo, Brazil) and freshman Gustavo Funo (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) won, 6-3.
Freshman Renan Botelho (Itatiba, Brazil) and junior Kristopher Greenhaw (Huntington Beach, Calif.) grounded the Cardinals at No. 3 doubles, 6-4.
Hayden Latus downed Gavin Pratt at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2.
Murilo Zeni zoomed past Zak Farley at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 3 singles, Renan Revite wrangled Michael Johnson, 6-2, 6-1.
Gustavo Funo bounced Paul Havermeier at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-1.
Renan Botelho beat Kanyon Hocks at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Kristopher Greenhaw cleaned up Owen Fonder at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
The Falcons look to continue their winning ways on Saturday against Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Northwestern.
