Falcons Battle Titans in Midweek Matchup

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin women's soccer team (5-8, 4-2 NACC) fell to the UW-Oshkosh Titans (6-4-3, 1-1-1 WIAC) 5-1 Tuesday afternoon at Fitting Field.

The Titans found the back of the net first in the 5th minute to go ahead 1-0. They added another goal in the 29th minute to double their lead going into the locker room.

In the first frame, the Falcons outshot the Titans 12-9. Senior goalkeeper Kara Claussner (St. Charles, Ill.) started the game in goal and earned two saves in the first frame.

In the 51st minute, freshman midfielder Christine Long (Cedarburg, Wis.) netted Concordia Wisconsin's lone goal to bring her team within one.

However, the Titans' offense continued to apply pressure throughout the match, adding three more goals to cap off the scoring and secure the 5-1 win.

Freshman goalkeeper Aubrey Johnson (Cedar Grove, Wis.) recorded six saves in the second half. Senior defender Lanie Czerkies led the Falcons with five shots, two of those forcing a save from the goalkeeper.

The Falcons will finish out their three-game homestand, hosting Rockford on Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. CST at Fitting Field.
