CLINTON, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's triathlon team raced into the record books at the Prairie State Splash and Dash on Friday evening.
The Falcons claimed the first team victory in program history, winning the event with 60 points. Chicago State finished a distant second with 24 points, while Coe College placed third with 22.
Friday's race consisted of a 300-meter swim, four-mile bike and 1.5-mile run.
Junior Keira Elliott (Andover, Minn.) added another historic first for the Falcons, claiming the first individual victory in program history with a winning time of 26:21.
Senior Sydney Morgen (Brandon, Wis.) joined Elliot on the podium, securing third-place honors with a time of 27:54.
Senior Cadia Sanders (Joppa, Md.) crossed the finish line in 28:17 to claim fourth place, while senior Chloe LeMoine (Richfield, Wis.) was right behind her in fifth place at 28:25.
Senior Anya Mattke (Fox Point, Wis.) finished seventh with a time of 29:38, while freshman Helene Hendrickson (Fort Wayne, Ind.) followed in eighth place, also clocking in at 29:38.
Sophomore Lydia Boehlke rounded out the flock in 10th place with a time of 30:43.
The Falcons will return to action Saturday at the Prairie State Cup.
