HANOVER PARK, Ill. – After Wheaton had won the first six matches in the series, the Falcons have defeated Wheaton in back-to-back season. The Concordia men's tennis team defeated the Thunder n Saturday, 5-2, improving to 6-1 on the year.
Junior Renan Revite (São Bernardo do campo, Brazil) and freshman Gustavo Funo (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) were victories at No. 2 doubles on Saturday, 6-4.
Sophomore Hayden Latus (Waukesha, Wis.) and freshman Murilo Zeni (Curitiba, Brazil) picked up a 7-5 victory on court one to help the Falcons with the doubles point.
Hayden Latus tripped up Corin Tang at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3.
Murilo Zeni defeated Andrew Jang at No. 2 singles, 7-6, 6-4.
At No. 3 singles, Renan Revite won a thriller over Andrew Winters, 7-6, 4-6, 15-13.
Freshman Renan Botelho (Itatiba, Brazil) bounced Joshua Hartman at No. 6 singles, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8.
The Falcons will now rest up and prepare for spring break matches down in Florida.
