GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team opened Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday evening at St. Norbert. The Green Knight s collected a 6-1 victory to send the Falcons to 9-4 and 0-1 in the NACC.
The Green and Gold opened the day by taking all three doubles courts.
Freshman Gustavo Funo (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) and freshman Renan Botelho (Itatiba, Brazil) had a battle at No. 3 doubles, but fell in a tiebreaker, 8-10.
The lone Concordia victory came at No. 2 singles n Saturday. Freshman Murilo Zeni (Curitiba, Brazil) defeated Ryan Garland to the tune of a 7-5, 6-3 victory.
Renan Botelho forced a third set at No. 5 singles, but fell in the third set, 4-6.
The Falcons look to return to the win column on Saturday at MSOE.
