WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's golf team split into two squads over the weekend, with the "A" team competing at the Morningstar Masters and the "B" team playing in the Monmouth College Fighting Scot Invitational.
MORNINGSTAR MASTERS
Wisconsin Lutheran hosted the Morningstar Masters at Morningstar Golfers Club, featuring 10 programs, including two that entered multiple teams.
After battling rain and strong winds in Monday's opening round, the Falcons sit 12th overall with a team score of 334 (+46).
Junior
Isaac Seidel (Wausau, Wis.) leads CUW, sitting tied for 54th after carding an 81 (+9), highlighted by a birdie on the 12th hole.
Sophomore
Ray Baldus (Mayville, Wis.) and freshman
Jack MacGillis (Plymouth, Wis.) followed with rounds of 83 (+11) and 84 (+12), placing tied for 60th and tied for 63rd, respectively. Freshman
Grant Hamm (Slinger, Wis.) and sophomore
Dylan Smith (Amherst, Wis.) rounded out the lineup with scores of 86 (+14) and 89 (+17).
The Falcons will tee off for the final round Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
FIGHTING SCOT INVITE
The CUW "B" team competed at the Monmouth College Fighting Scot Invitational at Gibson Woods Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday, finishing seventh out of 10 teams with a two-day total of 662 (+95).
Freshman
Kyle Smith (Davenport, Iowa) led the Falcons, tying for 23rd with a 160 (+18). The freshman recorded three birdies over the weekend, including two in the final round.
Junior
Kean O'Neil (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) and sophomore
Tyler Klett (Paw Paw, Mich.) finished close behind, placing 29th and tied for 30th with scores of 163 (+21) and 164 (+22), respectively.
Junior
Julian Styer placed 40th with a 175 (+33), while senior
Dominic Murano (Milwaukee, Wis.) tied for 43rd at 177 (+35) to round out the CUW lineup.
