ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Concordia University Wisconsin women's track & field team opened competition at the 38th Meet of Champions on Friday, hosted by Augustana (Ill.). The meet features 30 programs across NCAA Division III, NAIA, and JUCO levels.

Day one was highlighted by multi-events and select throwing competitions.

Freshman
Lydia Boehlke (High Ridge, Mo.) began competition in the heptathlon, competing in the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, and 200 meters. Boehlke totaled 1,913 points through the first four events and sits 10th overall. She turned in her top performance in the shot put, placing fifth with a mark of 8.53 meters, and added an eighth-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 28.66.

In the throwing events, junior
Paige Schreiber (Dousman, Wis.) paced the Falcons with an 11th-place finish in the javelin. Schreiber recorded a personal-best throw of 31.18 meters on her opening attempt.

In the discus, both sophomore Mackenna Herbrand (Fond du Lac, Wis.) and junior
Bryanna Mursch (Grafton, Wis.) set new personal bests. Herbrand posted a mark of 32.41 meters to place 35th, while Mursch recorded a throw of 30.56 meters to finish 40th.

Competition resumes Saturday at 10 a.m. with the conclusion of the heptathlon. Running events are set to begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by field events at 11 a.m.
