ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Concordia University Wisconsin women's track & field team wrapped up competition at the 38th Meet of Champions on Friday, hosted by Augustana (Ill.). The meet featured 30 programs across NCAA Division III, NAIA, and JUCO levels.

Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) led the Falcons on the track with a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters, clocking a season-best time of 2:22.22.

In the 1,500 meters, senior
Ainara Sainz de Rozas (Madrid, Spain) also turned in a fourth-place performance, finishing in 4:48.59. Senior
Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) added a 10th-place finish in the event (5:06.47).

Sophia Wunderlich (Greenville, Wis.) advanced to the finals in the 100-meter hurdles after posting a 15.99 in prelims. She improved her time to 15.92 in the finals to place fifth. Junior
Olivia Ebel (Mt. Clemens, Mich.) added a ninth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.84).

Jacey Read (Carbondale, Wis.) just missed qualifying for the 100-meter finals, placing 12th in prelims with a time of 12.74. She also competed in the 200 meters, finishing 13th in 25.93.

Adalin Nodolf (Ripon, Wis.) placed 16th (1:03.84), while junior
Sydney Lechisin (Turtle Lake, Wis.) recorded a 14th-place finish in the 5,000 meters (22:01.88).

Kate Kotula (Wyomissing, Pa.) led CUW in the pole vault with a sixth-place finish after clearing 3.30 meters, while junior
Caitlyn Weitzel (Fallston, Md.) placed 11th (3.00m). Sophomore
Amiyah Jackson (Beaver Dam, Wis.) took 12th in the long jump (4.95m), and Wunderlich added a 12th-place finish in the triple jump (10.72m).

Makenna Herbrand (Fond du Lac, Wis.) paced the Falcons in the hammer throw with a mark of 37.46 meters to place 26th, while junior
Paige Schreiber (Dousman, Wis.) finished 30th in the shot put (10.63m).

Lydia Boehlke (High Ridge, Mo.) completed the heptathlon in 10th place with 3,058 points. Her top performance on day two came in the javelin, where she placed third with a throw of 25.91 meters.

Boehlke opened the heptathlon competition on Friday, totaling 1,913 points through four events to sit 10th overall. She recorded her top performance in the shot put, placing fifth with a mark of 8.53 meters, and added an eighth-place finish in the 200 meters (28.66).

In the javelin, Schriber led the Falcons with an 11th-place finish and a personal-best throw of 31.18 meters on her opening attempt.

Both Herbrand and junior
Bryanna Mursch (Grafton, Wis.) recorded personal bests in the discus. Herbrand placed 35th with a throw of 32.41 meters, while Mursch finished 40th with a mark of 30.56 meters.

The Falcons will return to action next Saturday at the St. Norbert College Invitational as they prepare for the NACC Outdoor Championships.
