DES MOINES, Iowa – It was a historic night for the Concordia Wisconsin women's track & field program at the Drake Relays on Thursday.
The school record in the 10,000-meter run didn't just fall — it was obliterated.
Senior Ainara Sainz de Rozas (Madrid, Spain) shattered her own program record with a dominant first-place finish, crossing the line in 34:02.86.
Sainz de Rozas led a strong field, finishing well ahead of Lauren Neugeboren, who took second in 35:18.35, and Deyanneira Colon Maldonado, who placed third in 35:48.11.
Her record-breaking performance now ranks second in NCAA Division III this season, further solidifying her position among the nation's elite distance runners.
Junior Emma Ahrens (Stephens City, Va.) also delivered a solid performance, placing ninth with a time of 37:11.58.
The previous school record of 34:57.75 was also held by Sainz de Rozas, set at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, a mark she improved by nearly a full minute in Thursday's standout performance. The previous Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference record was 34:45.80 set by Deyanneira Colon Maldonado of Aurora in 2025.
