DE PERE, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's track & field team looked good at the final competition before the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Championships. The Falcons finished in fourth place at the St. Norbert Invite on Saturday with 82.5 points.
The Falcons opened the day with a victory in the 4x100 meter relay. The team of freshman Adalin Nodolf (Ripon, Wis.), freshman Sophia Wunderlich (Greenville, Wis.), junior Emma Eilertson (Mukwonago, Wis.) and sophomore Jacey Read (Carbondale, Wis.) won at 49.75.
Seven Falcons competed in the shot put on Saturday, led by sophomore Madysen Gonzagowski (Madison, Wis.) at 10.58 meters. Junior Paige Schreiber (Dousman, Wis.) was 14th at 10.39 meters with junior Bryanna Mursch (Grafton, Wis.) at 10.11 meters in 17th place, junior Morgan Feuker (Mount Pleasant, Wis.) in 19th place at 9.96 meters and sophomore Makenna Herbrand (Fond du Lac, Wis.) at 9.87 meters in 21st place. Freshman Lydia Boehlke (High Ridge, Mo.) was 31st at 8.41 meters and freshman Christabel Olusegen (Milwaukee, Wis.) rounded out the flock in 32nd place at 8.26 meters. Bryanna Mursch led the throws crew in the discus at 29.43 meters in 20th place.
Sophia Wunderlich placed third in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 15.74. Emma Eilertson finished seventh at 16.56 and Lydia Boehlke was 12th at 17.56.
Sophomore Amiyah Jackson (Beaver Dam, Wis.) placed third in the javelin throw at 31.78 meters and Paige Schreiber was sixth at 30.52 meters. Jackson also led Concordia in the long jump at 11th place at 5.00 meters, with Lydia Boehlke at 4.75 for her best mark of her career in 14th place.
Junior Mikayla Becker (Plantation, Fla.) led the flock in the 1500-meter run at 5:20.11, her best time of her career in 10th place. Junior Sydney Lechisin (Turtle Lake, Wis.) was 19th at 5:38.08 and freshman Nia Petropoulos (Muskego, Wis.) had a personal-best time of 5:54.26 in 27th place.
Jacey Read claimed the bronze medal in the 100-meter dash at 12.59.
In the 800-meter run, senior Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) was second at 2:18.65 and senior Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) was 10th at 2:25.59.
Junior Olivia Ebel (Mt. Clemens, Mich.) led the Falcons in the 400-meter hurdles in fifth place at 1:10.53, ahead of freshman Callynn Strausser (Sheboygan, Wis.) in sixth place at 1:14.57 with a personal-best time.
Emma Eilertson was fifth in the high jump at 1.52 meters, edging Jacey Read in sixth place at 1.47 meters.
Sophia Wunderlich was wonderful un the 200-meter dash in fourth place at 26.23, for the best time of her career.
The Birds closed the day on the track in third place in the 4x400-meter relay at 4:14.31 with Olivia Ebel, Danielle Van Grinsven, Melanie Arvis and Adalin Nodolf.
At the pole vault pit, senior Katelyn Kotula (Wyomissing, Pa.) was fifth at 3.35 meters and junior Caitlyn Weitzel (Fallston, Md.) was sixth at 3.20 meters.
Three Falcons soared in the triple jump, with Sophia Wunderlich in second place at 11.85 meters, breaking into the top 100 of NCAA Division III. Kaitlyn Kotula was sixth at 10.61 meters and Callynn Strausser was 14th at 9.58 meters.
Morgan Freuker had the best performance in the hammer throw for the Falcons in 13th place at 39.70 meters for a career-best mark, squeaking past Makenna Herbrand in 14th place at 39.52 meters for her best mark.
The Falcons will compete at the NACC Championships beginning on Friday.
