Women’s Track & Field Takes Second at NACC Championships

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's track & field team put together a strong Saturday showing at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Falcons finished in second place as a team with 162 points.

The Falcons earned two major honors, with Ainara Sainz de Rozas (Madrid, Spain) named Track Athlete of the Meet and Sophia Wunderlich (Greenville, Wis.) earning Freshman of the Meet honors. Sainz de Rozas becomes the sixth Falcon to be named NACC Track Athlete of the Meet, joining Anessa Yim in 2024, Nora Imperl in 2016 and 2017, and Samantha Gries in 2009 and 2011. This marks the third time a Falcon has been named Freshman of the Meet, joining Jacey Read in 2025 and Anessa Yim in 2921.

Concordia opened the day on the track with a second-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay at 50.19. The team consisted of freshman Adalin Nodolf (Ripon, Wis.), Sophia Wunderlich, junior Emma Eilertson (Mukwonago, Wis.), and sophomore Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.).

Ainara Sainz de Rozas then claimed the title in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:34.94. Senior Danielle Van Grinsven (Appleton, Wis.) placed third at 4:53.50, while senior Melanie Arvis (Berwyn, Ill.) finished sixth at 4:57.42. Senior Abby Poehlman (Hubertus, Wis.) crossed in 14th at 5:19.13, and freshman Nia Petropoulos (Muskego, Wis.) was 23rd at 5:51.29.

Sainz de Rozas completed the distance triple crown with a victory in the 5000-meter run at 16:57.94. Junior Emma Ahrens (Stephens City, Va.) finished second at 17:36.81, while Melanie Arvis closed her career in fifth place at 19:03.36. Junior Mikayla Becker placed 12th at 19:53.11, and junior Sydney Leschisin (Turtle Lake, Wis.) finished 20th at 22:37.47.

Sophia Wunderlich earned a silver medal in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.09. Emma Eilertson placed fifth at 17.29, and freshman Callynn Strausser (Sheboygan, Wis.) finished sixth at 17.48.

Jacey Read claimed the bronze medal in the 100-meter dash, sprinting to a time of 12.55. Danielle Van Grinsven also secured bronze in the 800-meter run at 2:22.97. Another bronze medal went to Olivia Ebel in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:10.31.

In the 400-meter dash, Adalin Nodolf placed fifth at 1:01.33. The Falcons also finished back-to-back in the 200-meter dash, with Jacey Read taking fourth at 25.46 and Sophia Wunderlich finishing fifth at 26.07.

Freshman Lydia Boehlke (High Ridge, Mo.) placed sixth in the heptathlon with 3,149 points.

In the high jump, Jacey Read recorded a second-place finish at 1.57 meters, while Emma Eilertson placed fifth at 1.52 meters. Junior Ashley Burk (Watertown, Wis.) cleared 1.42 meters to finish 10th.

Sophomore Amiyah Jackson (Beaver Dam, Wis.) placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 4.81 meters, while freshman Jaden Gray (Hartford, Wis.) finished 18th at 3.77 meters.

In the shot put, sophomore Madysen Gonzagowski (Madison, Wis.) placed seventh with a throw of 10.69 meters. Junior Morgan Feuker (Mount Plesant, Wis.) finished ninth at 10.26 meters, just ahead of junior Paige Schreiber (Dousman, Wis.) in 10th at 10.24 meters. Junior Bryanna Mursch (Grafton, Wis.) placed 14th at 10.02 meters, and sophomore Makenna Herbrand (Fond du Lac, Wis.) finished 17th at 9.88 meters.

Morgan Feuker added a point in the hammer throw with an eighth-place finish at 40.32 meters. Makenna Herbrand followed in ninth at 39.66 meters. Paige Schreiber placed 16th at 30.25 meters, and Madysen Gonzagowski finished 17th at 28.69 meters.

The Falcons closed the meet with a bronze medal in the 4x400-meter relay. The team of Olivia Ebel, Danielle Van Grinsven, Sophia Wunderlich, and Adalin Nodolf finished with a time of 4:12.14.

The Green Knights of St. Norbert defended their team title with 284.5 points.
