Lubner Named NACC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its 2025 Cross Country Athletes of the Year, as voted on by the league's head coaches, with Concordia Wisconsin junior Isaiah Lubner earning Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Year honors.

A junior from Campbellsport, Wisconsin, Lubner claims the honor for the first time in his career. He becomes the fourth Falcon to receive the award, joining Timmy Brey (2023), Andy Ashenden (2009, 2010) and Micah Lorenzen (2006, 2007).

Lubner turned in a standout season, earning NACC Student-Athlete of the Week honors four times. He opened the year with a ninth-place finish at the St. Norbert Tom Barry Invitational, crossing the line in 19:23.0.

He followed with back-to-back victories on the home course, winning the Ken Weidt Invitational in 25:54.5 and the Wisconsin Private College Championships in 25:53.2. Lubner added a 24th-place finish at the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational to close out the regular season.

At the NACC Cross Country Championships, Lubner delivered a dominant performance, winning the individual title with a time of 25:35.9.

He concluded his season at the NCAA Division III North Region Championships, earning all-region honors with a 33rd-place finish in 25:40.0.

The honor also marks just the second time in program history that Concordia Wisconsin has swept both NACC Cross Country Athlete of the Year awards, joining the 2009 season.
