Brandon Richards completed his third season as head coach of the ACHA Division II Men’s Hockey program at Concordia University Wisconsin during the 2020-21 campaign. In addition to his role with the ACHA team, he also serves as a graduate assistant for the NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey program.
In 2019-20, Richards led the ACHA squad to a 25-5-1 record (.823), marking the best single-season winning percentage in program history.
Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Richards played AAA hockey before moving to West Virginia at age 12, continuing his development at the AAA level in Pittsburgh. After high school, he earned a spot with the Northern Cyclones of the AJHL. Following an ACL injury, Richards attended West Virginia University, where he played for the ACHA Division I team.
At WVU, he was a three-time Academic All-American and led the division in face-off percentage during his senior season.
Richards began his coaching career soon after graduation and has coached at the U14, U18, high school, and collegiate levels. He is dedicated to player development and is committed to helping build a strong future for Concordia University Wisconsin hockey.
