SUPERIOR, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin scored a late power-play goal, but it was too late during a 3-1 season-opening loss at UW-Superior. The Yellowjackets scored a goal in each of the three periods on Friday night at Siinto S. Wessman Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Emily Reimche (Billings, Montana) found the back of the net in the third period on the power-play for the Falcons lone goal of the net, which was assisted on by sophomore Kaytlin Johnson (Black River Falls, Wis.) and junior Madi Chapman (Rogers, Minn.).
- Senior Breanna Thomson (St. Marys, Ontario) made 39 saves in goal and had double-digit stops in each period.
- UW-Superior outshot Concordia Wisconsin 42-24 and had a slight 30-26 edge in faceoffs. Senior Natasha Wanless (Madison, Wis.) went 13-8 on the faceoff for the Falcons.
