Garza graduated from Concordia University – Chicago in 2021 with a degree in exercise science. As a student-athlete, she competed in shot put, discus, and hammer. During her collegiate career, she broke three CUC school records and, after the 2021 season, was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic athlete.

Following graduation, Garza stayed at Concordia University – Chicago as a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant and worked towards her master’s degree in Exercise Physiology.

 After her two years coaching at Concordia University – Chicago, Garza moved to Boston and was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Massachusetts – Boston for two years under the NCAA’s DII/DIII Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Internship Grant.

During her time in Boston, the athletes she worked with achieved:

-        Two Conference Championships in Women’s Tennis (2023, 2024)

-        One Conference Championship in Women’s Softball (2025)
