  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Chuck Oliver enters his first season as an assistant coach under Head Coach Shawn Cassidy for the Concordia University Wisconsin men’s basketball program.

A 1990 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin, Oliver earned his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History and Theology. During his collegiate career, he was a two-sport athlete, competing in both basketball and baseball for the Falcons. On the court, Oliver was a standout performer, joining the prestigious 1,000-point club and ranking among the program’s all-time top ten in both steals and assists.

Oliver began his coaching career at Valley Lutheran High School in Phoenix, Arizona, where he led the boys’ basketball program from 1990 to 2000. Under his leadership, the team advanced to multiple regional and state playoff appearances. He returned to his alma mater for the 2000–2001 season as an assistant coach with the CUW men’s basketball program before serving as the head women’s basketball coach from 2000–2004.

After his tenure at Concordia, Oliver moved back to Phoenix to coach high school boys’ basketball, guiding his team to regional and sectional success and a trip to the Arizona State Championship in the 2006–2007 season. He later returned to Wisconsin, where he spent the past 14 years coaching both the boys’ and girls’ programs at Living Word Lutheran High School.

Off the court, Oliver lives in West Bend, Wisconsin, with his wife Lisa, and their children Easton (a freshman at CUW), Jackson, and Addison. In his free time, he enjoys reading history, cheering on his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers, and collecting baseball cards—a hobby that has earned him national television recognition for his impressive collection.

Faith is at the center of Oliver’s coaching philosophy. He is passionate about helping his players grow spiritually, mentally, and physically, striving to develop both their character and their game.
