River Forest, Il
Held to a scoreless tie for the initial 45 minutes, CUW got
second half tallies from Trevor Hess, Kyle Sytsma, and Victor
Mendoza to defeat pesky CU-Chicago. "We were more composed in the
second half- not rushing things. That was a key," said Coach Tom
Saleska.
Saleska's team outshot the hosts 22-2, controlling action
throughout, but the Falcons could not breathe easy until Hess
notched his eighth goal of the season just five minutes into the
second half. CUW is now at 8-2-2 in the season and 4-0 in the NAC
while CU-C fell to 2-7-1 (1-4-0 in the NAC).
With injuries sidelining a pair of key performers, Saleska was
especially pleased with Mendoza and freshman James Kroll who filled
in "admirably".
The Falcons travel to Marian Wednesday for a 7:00pm contest.
