Waverly, IA
Concordia improved to 2-1 on the season by handing Bethany
Lutheran (0-4) a 77-57 defeat Saturday in the consolation game of
the Pizza Ranch Tipoff Tournament.
The Falcons got a strong second half defensive effort to erase a
one point intermission deficit as they held Bethany to seven field
goals over the final twenty minutes of action.
Cory Stark (19 points) and Mitchell Schneider (18) led the CUW
attack offensively with Stark adding eight rebounds.
The Falcons were once again "anemic from outside" (4 of 19) but
Stark and Kyle Barth combined to knock down 10 of 14 shots in the
paint and Shawn Cassidy's troops hit 19 of 28 free throw
attempts.
