Host Augsburg (4-3-1) dominated play Saturday with a 54-23
shots-on-goal advantage, including a 21-8 margin in the first
period as they built a 2-0 lead, on the way to a 4-1 win over CUW
(0-9-0).
The Falcons got their lone score on a power-play goal from
Joseph Greg Douglas assisted by Eric Domaas and Jari Sanders late
in the second period to cut their deficit to 3-1 at the time.
Augsburg secured the win early in the third period on a power
play opportunity. Michael Wyenn was outstanding in the nets with 50
saves in a losing effort for the Falcons.
