Sarah Smith's backhanded lamp lighter with :44 remaining gave
the Falcons a thrilling 2-1 win over Lake Forest Saturday
afternoon.
CUW still had to play short-handed defense for those hectic
final 44 seconds and a nearly point blank Forester shot was knocked
away by winning goalie Krista Tatum just before time expired.
Tatum finished with 34 saves.
Jamie Athens had scored the first CUW goal in the second period
to tie the match at 1. Jim Ingman's skaters improved to 6-16-3
while dropping the visitors to 10-14-1.
