Ozaukee Ice Center
Fired up Concordia handed visiting Adrian, now 5-1-1 in league
play, their first conference loss last evening at the Ozaukee Ice
Center.
"It was just a great game," said Falcon coach Jim Ingman. "Our
special teams were outstanding and the energy level that we came
out with really set the tone for the whole evening."
CUW got the game's first goal when Sarah Lichtie slapped home a
Samantha Meuwissen pass at 7:25 of the initial period, but Adrian
came back to tie just before that session ended.
The Falcons exploded for 3 straight tallies in the second period
with Alyssa Isaackson, Jaime Athens, and Alisha Java all lighting
the lamp in one two minute flurry.
A pair of Adrian scores, one later in the second period and one
early in the third made it 4-3 CUW before Meuwissen got what proved
to be the game-winner on a power play score midway into the third
session.
Adrian was able to get within 5-4 after they pulled their goalie
for an extra attacker in the closing minutes.Concordia improved to
4-3-1 in league play. The same teams meet this afternoon at
2:00pm.
