Falcon women crush Lakeland 66-47

On paper it looked like anybody's game but on the court CUW (5-4) was superior from start to finish, scoring an important and impressive 66-47 road win over Lakeland (4-3) this evening.

Concordia's hustling man-man defense locked down the Muskies from the outset and Stacey Brunner-Jones' team coasted from a 33-18 halftime cushion to the final margin.

Katie Luethe (19) and Melanie Kulibert (14) led the scoring but three other Falcons also had 8 or more points and the CUW defense held host Lakeland to 27% shooting while forcing 22 turnovers.

"I was pleased with our bench play tonight," said Coach Brunner-Jones. "We are starting to get it on the offensive end but our team rebounding has to improve."
