Falcons rout Rockford softball 16-2

Concordia beat the rain and Rockford Saturday in game one of a scheduled doubleheader.

Trailing 2-0 entering the bottom of the second, CUW scored 10 runs in that frame and added six more over the next two innings to record a mercy rule victory.

Sarah Cochran had both a bases clearing double and a two run single in the second.

An inning later Jenna DiMaggio blasted a long home run over the center field fence. Winning pitcher Danielle Burke gave up only two hits while Stepahnie Brunette had 3 of the 14 CUW base knocks.

Steve Crook's team led 9-0 in the third inning of game two when a downpour forced suspension of the contest.
