Superior
Coming off a huge win over Carroll, CUW controlled possession for
the first 70 minutes, but could not find the back of the net
despite several quality opportunities. Freshman Enzo Berrini had 5
shots on goal, but all were handled by the UW-Superior goalie.
When the hosts pounded home a loose ball in front of the Concordia
goal at the 75:00 mark, the stage was set for an upset.
Tom Saleska's team brought everyone forward in attempt to tie the
game, but the Yellow Jackets got a breakaway counter in the closing
minutes for icing on the cake and dropped CUW to 1-1 on the
season.
"We had the better of play in the midfield throughout but we don't
have that bigger guy who can get behind the defense and pound
away," confided Saleska.
