Marche Smith scored 45 points to lead Concordia- Chicago (8-11)
past CUW 79-68 in overtime Saturday in the CIT consolation
matchup. Smith's incredible total included included 15 of the 17
points scored by the Cougars in overtime.
Poor field goal shooting hampered the Falcons (13-7) for a second
straight game as Stacey Brunner-Jones team missed numerous inside
attempts and was only able to stay in the game thanks to 19-23 free
throw marksmanship.
All American Smith knocked down 15 of 22 shots from the floor and
13-16 from the line, grabbed 9 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists
in one of the top CIT performances of all-time. She hit all 6 of
her overtime attempts.
