Mequon -
Scoring 20 goals off 22 shots on goal, Adrian College left
little doubt as to why they were selected as the coaches preseason
favorite in the Midwest Womens Lacrosse Conference. Tallying 13
first half goals, including the first goal just 47 seconds in, the
Bulldogs (a fourth-year program) defeated Concordia 20-0 on Sunday
morning from Fitting Field.
Rachel Johnston, who entered the game with 39 goals, netted four
goals and added two assists in the victory, while Lindsey Day
scored three goals and recorded three assists of her own. Ten
different players scored for Adrian, with a total of 12 players
registering at least one point each, in a game that would see the
Bulldogs outshoot the Falcons 27-3.
Falling to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference, CUW returns to
action on Wednesday at 5pm against Carthage. With just six
regular-season games left, Wednesday is already the final home game
for the women's lacrosse team at Fitting Field.
